The Problem to Poetry
I know I’m not a very good poet.
But there’s something to say, and I’d like you to know it.
You see, with my poems, I’ve tried and tried,
But there has to be something wrong inside.
It can't be the words, yet it has to be.
It can't be you, so it has to be me.
But what did I write wrong, well I don't know,
I can't find out, so I’ll have to go.
I can’t believe that it was me,
But maybe I didn't write this, you see.
It may be that some other guy wrote it.
Another guy, another poet.
It would make perfect sense, but how could it be
That I am saying this, only me.
Do you think this is a chant, or maybe a song?
No that can't be it, that must be wrong.
Wait, now I got it, it's getting clearer,
It depends on who is the reader.
I’ll show you where the problem lurks.
I'll show you just how it works.
One of my friends would think it is good.
But one who isn't never would.
So now that I know, I can let it be,
I've solved the problem to poetry.
