My mouse
I kept my mouse
Inside the house.
There all day long,
But that was wrong.
'Cause for a second or fraction
She needed some action.
She tried and tried
To get outside.
But through bad luck,
She was stuck.
So she pondered,
Oh, she wondered.
It seemed so nice
For the wild mice.
And through her doubt,
She knew she had to get out.
She thought and thought,
And sleep she did not.
"If there is a way,
I'll find it today"
So she thought some more,
'Till her head was sore.
Then she got a plan
And out she ran.
Soon she could see
That she was free.
But then came the worst.
For she got out her purse.
She ran to the kitchen
And put a sandwich in.
She ate the sandwich fast.
(she ate the jelly last)
And when she was done
She had lots of fun.
She said "ahoy"
To a wind-up toy.
But it ignored her,
And she heard a purr.
She saw a rat
In the paws of a cat.
She ran in fear
To get out of there.
She ran back to her room
With a zip and a zoom.
She jumped on my dresser,
And in the arms of the possessor.
The possessor was me,
As you clearly can see.
I picked up the cat
And told it to scat.
My mouse was outraged
When I put her back in the cage.
Then she realized the cat
Would eat her if not.
So she ate a big meal,
And ran in her wheel.
