My Dinosaur
I know you don't want to hear more,
But there's the story of my dinosaur.
I had his food, and his drink,
About one thing I didn't think.
He was going through that hungry stage,
And I forgot to build a cage.
He saw my mother and ate my brother,
I told him not to eat another.
I warned a man, but it was too late,
The man my dinosaur also ate.
Maybe he needed a petting zoo,
So that is where we went to.
But all the sheep, the cows, the goats,
They all went right down his throat.
The zoo owners were pretty mad,
For the fines I was not glad.
But I had other problems on my mind.
Like where my dino I would find.
Then I saw him far away,
I went toward him, I didn't stay.
My neighbors gave me a phone,
"COME BACK DINO"--dial tone.
Suddenly he stopped still,
Left the scene of gore and ill,
He went to me, and to my surprise,
He walked right home, before my eyes.
Then cough and spit, and out came brother,
Then more of it, and then another.
and even though he was still mine,
I had to pay that giant fine.
And all was nice
When I got mice.
They were gentle and cute,
Unlike my brute.
And I also built a cage,
To keep us from that hungry stage.
